Leslie’s Story

“For me, the pandemic opened the door to several poor health habits.
I was inconsistent with my fitness and spent most weekends trying to perfect my culinary skills which included a lot of ‘tasting’.
By the fall of 2021 I knew I was the heaviest weight I had ever been without even stepping on the scale.
I was in the worst shape of my life.

I was too busy with work so my health and fitness went on the back burner.
I felt lethargic, frustrated and honestly skeptical that I would ever reach my goals, let alone stick with a plan to prioritize my health.
I was ready for a change, but I had so much self-doubt because I had failed so many times before.
I had tried countless times over the years to get in shape without success.
I’ve done diet programs which helped me lose wight, but didn’t factor any fitness into the program so I gained the weight back.
I tried one ‘boutique’ type chain fitness studio in town but was so intimidated by the workouts because there was no personalization in the program. So I quit.
Then I went to another fitness studio. The trainer I met said ‘well… you clearly haven’t done this before’. I felt so defeated by his words I never went back there.
These experiences only fueled my self-doubt.

I was determined to make positive changes but I was getting discouraged and didn’t know how, or if, I was going to be able to make my health and fitness a priority.
Despite my insecurities, self-doubt and pervious experiences, I contacted Get Cut Fitness in September 2021.
This turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.

From the moment I walked in the door the entire Get Cut Fitness team was welcoming, personable and focused on supporting me.
This was extremely helpful because, along with support for my health and fitness, I also needed help with my mindset.
I expected immediate results.
I expected to revamp everything overnight.
I was under the common mis-guided expectation that health and fitness was something that I only had to do to an extreme extent for a short amount of time, then I wouldn’t have to think about it again.
In the past, I would exercise or diet to the extreme. Then I would overindulge and immediately fall back into old habits and give up on trying to be healthy.
But what I learned from the trainers at Get Cut Fitness is that I don’t have to be extreme. I can be balanced.
I learned that I can go on vacation, have fun, and re-engage with my fitness routine as soon as I get back because I enjoy it and it makes me feel better.
I was encouraged to go at my own pace.  Even though the scale didn’t move as much as I initially wanted it to, I clearly remember feeling positive changes were happening in my body.
I was doing an exercise that only a few weeks prior I could barely get through 3 or 4. However, this time I was on my 10th repetition without nearly the same struggle.

As I got more consistent with my training, I also took the results from my InBody scans and weigh-ins seriously.
I implemented the suggestions provided by the Get Cut Fitness team on my nutrition.
This was a game changer and to date, I have lost over 25 pounds.
However, the biggest difference now is I feel I can live my life and have fitness as an enjoyable part of it.
The compliments I’ve received from family and friends has been wonderful, but I feel so much happier and more confident in my skin, which is priceless.  Thank you Get Cut Fitness!” – Leslie M.
